Artists will learn to batik, make a beading loom, and weave a straw-loomed bracelet. We’ll also tie-dye, learn to use a knitting loom, and make our own drop spindles so we can spin wool into yarn! Please bring two plain, light-colored t-shirts and pair of socks to be dyed to your first day of camp. Please also bring one skein of a light color (no dark brown, navy, or black) Lion Brand ® bulky or super bulky yarn and an oblong knitting loom to class. The knitting loom looks like a long oval with two rows of pegs, and can be any length. One popular brand is the Knifty Knitter by Provocraft. Both yarn and looms are available at Michael’s or A.C. Moore in the knitting aisle. If you have difficulty finding the loom, please leave a message for the instructor at the time of registration and she will bring one for you to class (fee is $8 for the loom.)
